Quiet Descent Films brings together more than a decade of independent narrative filmmaking, from the long-running YouTube web series Nightwing: Escalation to the award-winning psychological short Disclosure.
Across these projects, Alex Valderana and a growing group of collaborators have explored genre storytelling through independent production, evolving from the ambitious, DIY filmmaking of Nightwing toward the more intimzate, psychologically driven work that defines Quiet Descent Films today.
The company's next film, the horror/psychological thriller Surfaces, is currently in pre-production.
In the 2024 short film “Disclosure”, disgraced news anchor Gary Carmichael receives a shot at redemption when he uncovers something that can change the world and his life forever.
After a successful festival run, the film is available in its entirety on YouTube linked to the right.

NIGHTWING: ESCALATION
Created in 2011, Nightwing: Escalation grew from a small independent web series into an ambitious, decade-long filmmaking project involving dozens of actors, filmmakers, and collaborators.
Across three seasons, the series served as a testing ground for increasingly ambitious storytelling and production. Its third and final season shifted toward a female-led ensemble and featured David Howard Thornton (Terrifier) as The Joker.
In this compilation to the right, witness David Howard Thornton’s iconic Joker.
In S3E4 “War Games”, producer Jared DiCroce directs as The Joker's reign begins. This is the most popular episode in the series & most infamous, highlighting the Clown Prince’s capabilities for terror. Edited by Alex Valderana
In this three-part mini-series, Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Brittney Parker Rose) confronts her past as a deadly new serial killer, Seraphim (Christina Jolie Breza), appears in Gotham. As Catwoman hunts Seraphim, she discovers a shocking truth about the killer's identity. This series was created by Alex Valderana, conceptualized by producer David Givens and directed by actor Kristen Seavey (Julie Hartman in “Nightwing: Escalation”) Seavey helms an all-female cast in this story, aiming to tell a more personal story for Selina.
