Quiet Descent Films is an independent production company founded by filmmaker Alex Valderana, focused on psychologically driven genre stories that explore obsession, identity, power, and the darker corners of human behavior.
Valderana has worked in independent film production since 2010. His early work includes the nonprofit web series Nightwing: Escalation, which ran for eight years beginning in 2011. Valderana served as executive producer, editor, and director throughout the series, which became known within genre circles for it’s third season female-led narrative as well as featuring David Howard Thornton (Terrifier franchise) as The Joker.
After eight years working professionally in television post-production, Valderana returned to narrative directing with Disclosure, written and produced by Raul Barquet. The psychological short marked a return to the kind of intimate, character-driven genre filmmaking that now defines Quiet Descent Films.
That direction continues with Surfaces, a proof-of-concept psychological horror film examining intimacy, exploitation, complicity, and the consequences of what people choose to bury.
Quiet Descent Films develops films rooted in character and atmosphere, where horror emerges not simply from what happens, but from the people responsible for it.
